Chandima Galahitiyawa

Hi, I'm Chandima Galahitiyawa, a Software Engineer based in Colombo, Sri Lanka. I specialize in designing, building, and deploying scalable mobile and web applications with a focus on clean architecture, intuitive user flows, and reliable cloud deployments.

Education & Academic Foundation

I hold a Bachelor of Computer Science with a major in Software Engineering from Edith Cowan University (Perth, Australia), preceded by a Diploma in Science (Computing) from ACBT. To broaden my perspective on product-market dynamics and user acquisition, I also completed a Diploma in Digital Marketing through the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM). This combination helps me build software that is technically rigorous while directly serving real product and business goals.

Engineering Philosophy & Framework Versatility

My engineering philosophy is rooted in foundations over frameworks. While I have hands-on experience building production systems with Flutter, Dart, Laravel, Vue.js, Node.js, and Nest.js, I treat frameworks as adaptable tools rather than identities. What remains constant is a commitment to clean application architecture, robust database design, RESTful API integrity, and writing maintainable, testable code.

From structuring reactive state management in cross-platform mobile apps to configuring containerized deployments and CI/CD pipelines, my goal is to deliver software that scales effortlessly and performs reliably under real-world conditions.

Modern & Agentic Workflows

I actively integrate AI-assisted and agentic development workflows into my daily engineering practice. By leveraging advanced tooling, Model Context Protocol (MCP), and systematic prompt architecture, I accelerate prototyping, automate tedious boilerplate, and focus deeply on high-leverage architectural and design decisions.

Beyond the Screen

When I'm not writing code or architecting systems, you'll find me studying German at the Goethe-Institut Sri Lanka, exploring local specialty coffee shops, traveling, or tinkering with open-source experiments.

Thanks for stopping by. Feel free to explore my projects or get in touch if you'd like to collaborate!
